The victim stated that a man contacted him via the WhatsApp messenger, introducing himself as an employee of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) and offering his services to release a defendant in a criminal case from a detention center for a sum of $17,000. However, he turned out to be a fraudster.
This case was registered under Article 209 ("Fraud") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Employees of the operational management of the Bishkek City Police Department detained the perpetrator, identified as A.T., born in 1988 and previously convicted. Since 2022, he had been on the international wanted list. He is currently placed in a temporary detention facility.
Investigative actions are ongoing.
