According to the investigation, S.K.O. used his official position to exert pressure on convicted individuals who were on probation or had received fines, demanding a bribe of $2000. In case of refusal, he threatened to appeal the court decision, which could lead to imprisonment.
The GKNB emphasized that the actions of the suspect undermined public trust in government authorities.
On February 1, GKNB employees, together with the security department of the General Prosecutor's Office, detained the deputy prosecutor while he was receiving part of the extorted amount — 140,000 soms.
After the detention, the suspect was placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB, and the investigation continues to identify other individuals involved in this crime.
