During the inspection, violations related to the law "On the Activities of Pawnshops" and the requirements for their operation were identified.
In particular, some pawnshops accepted as collateral documents such as civil passports, birth certificates, state acts confirming private property rights, and other similar papers, the agency notes.
In addition to sealing 16 pawnshops, inspections of other institutions are ongoing.
The State Committee is also conducting explanatory work with the owners and employees of pawnshops, emphasizing compliance with legislation regarding limits on interest rates (no more than 30%) under the law "On the Limitation of Usury Activities" (No. 163 of July 24, 2013).
