These raids were initiated by GKNB Chairman Kamchybek Tashiev. Employees of the Southern Territorial Administration of the Financial Supervision Service and the State Tax Service were involved in the inspections.
During the inspections, cases of significant inflation of interest rates were identified, exceeding the norms established by law. In response to these violations, the competent authorities applied administrative measures.
More than 30 pawnshops were sealed, and in-depth inspections are currently underway, the results of which will serve as the basis for further legal actions.
The GKNB is also conducting operations to identify individuals engaged in usury and providing loans on deliberately unfavorable terms. Service specialists note that such individuals use pledged property for their own benefit, generating significant profits.

Recently, a major usurer, the owner of a chain of pawnshops, was detained in Bishkek. According to the GKNB, he was engaged in illegal activities, profiting at the expense of citizens facing financial difficulties. He issued loans under deliberately predatory conditions, putting borrowers in a dependent position and depriving them of the ability to fulfill their obligations.
