At the event organized by the Main Department for Road Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the patrol service, the city administration, the Ministry of Health, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, as well as with the participation of activists and students, key aspects of the implementation of state programs for road safety were discussed. The focus was on improving infrastructure in hazardous areas, installing road signs, ensuring street lighting, and creating pedestrian zones.
According to information from the Main Department for Road Traffic Safety, last year there were 2,217 traffic accidents involving children in the country. As a result of these accidents, 121 children died, and 2,569 minors sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity.
