The victim, a 22-year-old resident of Osh, reported to the police that unknown individuals, claiming to be bloggers, demanded money from him, threatening to spread videos on social media.
According to the investigation, on February 10, around midnight, in an underground parking lot on A. Shakirov Street, the suspects approached the complainant, who was in a car with a girl. They claimed to have recorded his "indecent behavior" on video and demanded 100,000 soms for silence.
Under the pressure of the threat of video publication, the victim transferred 50,000 soms to an account in M-Bank. The criminals demanded the remaining amount by February 12, threatening to post the video online.
Operatives of the Osh City Department of Internal Affairs arrested the suspects on February 13 during the operation "Bandit" when they received $500 in cash.
The investigation has initiated a criminal case under part 2 of Article 208 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The detainees have been placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Those arrested:
- S.M., a 21-year-old resident of Osh, currently unemployed;
- Ch. uulu B., a 24-year-old resident of the Kara-Suu district.
