
On the morning of February 16, a car accident occurred in Bishkek, resulting in the death of a young woman. The driver of a KIA K5, while making a left turn, struck a pedestrian who, unfortunately, died at the scene from the injuries sustained.
According to information provided by the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the capital, the incident happened around 07:30 on Tynalieva Street. The driver, born in 1990 and named S.K., was traveling north and, while maneuvering, collided with F.A., born in 2004, who was crossing the road to the east.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 312 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning violations of traffic rules that resulted in causing serious harm through negligence. The driver has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
The vehicle has been placed in a specialized impound lot, and necessary examinations have been appointed for the investigation.
The Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek reminds drivers and pedestrians of the importance of adhering to traffic rules, mutual respect on the road, and the necessity to be especially attentive at pedestrian crossings and while performing maneuvers.
