A report of a terrorist act that is knowingly false is perceived as a threat to public safety. Such actions disrupt the usual order and operation of organizations, require the evacuation of citizens, and cause paralysis of the activities of institutions, notes the State Committee for National Security.
“Most often, the victims of such crimes are schools, shopping, and entertainment centers. It is important to know that the crime is considered completed from the moment a false report of a terrorist act is received, and serious responsibility is provided for such actions, including the possibility of imprisonment. The Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, Article 259, establishes criminal liability for knowingly false reports of acts of terrorism,” the statement says.
If such offenses are committed by minors, their parents are held responsible for their children's actions.
In this regard, the State Committee for National Security urges parents to conduct explanatory conversations with their children and closely monitor their behavior. Adult citizens are advised to avoid actions that may harm society and the state for personal or others' interests,” the State Committee for National Security added.
