In Kochkor-Ata, located in the Nooken district of the Jalal-Abad region, public outcry has erupted due to a family conflict involving a 14-year-old girl who has become a victim of systematic violence.
According to relatives, the girl's stepfather had subjected her to physical abuse and insults for a long time. The girl is currently in an extremely severe psychological state: she has stopped speaking and begins to cry when attempts are made to communicate with her.
Family members recount that the woman sought help from her brother. He rushed to her and took her along with his niece to his home. After this, the stepfather went to his wife's brother, where a conflict situation arose.
Relatives claim that the woman's brother sustained knife wounds to the chest, as well as blows to the head and partially lost his earlobe.
While he was being transported to the hospital, he lost consciousness several times due to severe blood loss and was placed in intensive care, where doctors assessed his condition as critical.
However, according to family statements, the forensic medical examination classified the injuries as moderate. They also noted the absence of any mention of the loss of part of the ear in the medical documents.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that on February 14, 2026, at around 1:15 AM, a local resident born in 1994 was admitted to the Kochkor-Ata city hospital with injuries. Information about the incident was registered in the Unified Register of Crimes, and an investigation was initiated.
An investigative group arrived at the scene, conducted an inspection, made sketches and photographs, and also discovered a knife.
According to the investigation, on February 13, at around 11:40 PM, the man went to his brother-in-law's house, born in 1992, and a conflict occurred between them, during which the brother-in-law inflicted knife wounds.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect was detained in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the court imposed a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest.
However, the victim's relatives believe that the measure of restraint is too lenient. They claim that the suspect continues to go out freely despite the house arrest.
The family is also facing difficulties in trying to temporarily transfer the girl to her grandmother: local authorities insist on returning the child to her mother, who still lives with the suspect.
Relatives intend to demand a repeated commission forensic medical examination outside the district, as well as a review of the objectivity of the investigation. They also demand a change in the measure of restraint to detention and a temporary transfer of the girl to her grandmother's custody during the investigative actions.
