In Bishkek, the investigation into a criminal case related to corruption in the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) is ongoing. The former head of the SCNS department for the capital, Zh.E.Z., has become a suspect in organizing a stable corruption scheme involving both agency employees and civilians aimed at personal enrichment. This was reported by the press service of the SCNS of Kyrgyzstan.
As part of this criminal case, opened under Article 336 Part 1 "Corruption" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, five people have been detained. The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention, and they have been placed in the temporary detention facilities of the Bishkek City Police Department and SIZO-1.
Additionally, the SCNS's internal security service conducted an internal investigation, the results of which are as follows:
- six employees were dismissed;
- another six employees were suspended from their positions and transferred to the disposal of the SCNS;
- one candidate for service in the SCNS was excluded from the competition;
- disciplinary actions were imposed on eight SCNS employees.
The press service also noted that work to identify other employees involved in this crime is ongoing.
