The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations commented on this incident on March 5, noting that the helicopter was rented on January 22. A citizen who contacted the Aviation Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations signed a contract and paid about 270,000 soms. The specified route indicated movement from the village of Petrovka to the city of Bishkek.
“The transportation of weapons, explosives, drugs, as well as individuals who are wanted, is prohibited,” the press service clarified.
However, as noted, after it became known that Azhiev had used the helicopter, a service investigation was initiated. As a result, the Aviation Department was instructed to check who and for what purpose is renting the aircraft in the future.
In 2024, Daniil Azhiev was sentenced to 9 years with confiscation of property. The Pervomaisky District Court found him guilty on several articles of the Criminal Code, including Article 160 Part 1 (“Organization or maintenance of brothels for prostitution or pimping for debauchery or procuring”), Article 161 (“Distribution of pornographic materials”), Article 261 Part 1 (“Creation of an organized group or participation in it”), and Article 215 Part 3 (“Causing property damage through deception or abuse of trust”).
In addition, he was banned from engaging in entrepreneurial activities for two years, is serving his sentence in a general regime correctional colony, and must pay a fine of 220,000 soms.
