The amount of extortion was 350,000 soms
In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, individuals suspected of extortion have been detained, as reported by the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
According to the information from the committee's press service, on January 17, 2026, as a result of operational-search activities, GKNB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) detained two suspects red-handed: citizen T.A. and police lieutenant A.E.B., who serves in the Oktyabrsky district.
The suspects demanded 350,000 soms from Ch.M., who became the complainant in the criminal case regarding the extortion, as provided for in paragraph 2 of part 2 of article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the case materials, the extortion occurred under the pretext that Ch.M. was accused of a crime related to the rape of T.A. As a result, T.A. and police officer E.A. conspired and demanded money from Ch.M. for a favorable resolution of the issue.
By the decision of the Lenin District Court, T.A. and E.A. were placed in the GKNB detention center.
