The incident occurred on January 8, when a citizen E.B. appealed to the Internal Affairs Department of the Lenin District. In her statement, she reported that in minibus No. 161, her wallet containing 595,000 soms, 400 dollars, and a set of jewelry worth 100,000 soms was stolen.
The Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under Article 205 "Theft" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational activities at the "Sary-Ozon" market, two men — Sh.M. and Zh.A., both born in 1985 and previously convicted of serious crimes — were detained. The suspects were taken to the Internal Affairs Department of the Lenin District and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Department of Internal Affairs. The court determined their preventive measure to be arrest in pre-trial detention center No. 1.
During a search of the Daewoo Nexia vehicle used by the detainees, jewelry that they had stolen was found.
According to the investigation, on the morning of January 8, the suspects boarded minibus No. 161 heading to the "Dordoy" market. Operatives found that, observing the female passenger, they decided that she was likely working at the market, and stole money and valuable items from her. After that, they returned by taxi, paying for the ride with 1,000 soms from the stolen funds.
