On the night of January 5 to 6, a theft occurred in the Orthodox church in the village of Ak-Suu (Teploklyuchenka), located in the Issyk-Kul region. Unknown criminals took all the money from the cash registers and donation boxes, as well as gold and silver jewelry and gifts prepared for children. This was reported by social media users who visited the church.

According to information from the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region, the first report of the crime was received on January 6. Upon inspecting the crime scene, police officers discovered a broken lock, damaged donation boxes, and signs of arson. Inside the church, a New Year's tree had been burned, and oil was spilled on the floor, damaging church property. Additionally, the criminals damaged surveillance cameras and cut wires.

According to the police, ten New Year's gifts, two silver chains, five to six silver rings, and 12 to 15 silver crosses were stolen from the church shop. The criminals also ripped out a Wi-Fi router. Furthermore, they took money from the cash registers and donation boxes, broke the windows of two cars parked near the church, and stole items from their interiors.

Despite the attempted arson, the churchgoers noted that the building, which is entirely made of wood, was not damaged.
Additionally, according to the police, a similar theft occurred at the local mosque: the criminals broke into two donation boxes and stole the money inside.

In connection with these events, a criminal case has been initiated under the article "Theft." Thanks to recordings from surveillance cameras, the identities of the suspects were established, who turned out to be 22-year-old V.A., previously convicted, and 15-year-old N.A., both from the village of Ak-Suu. They have already been placed in a temporary detention facility, and investigative actions are ongoing.
