Comment from Evgenia Bykovskaya
- First of all, I want to express my deep sympathy for the young athlete and her family. Any injury in sports is a serious cause for concern, and the safety of young athletes should always be a priority for coaches and sports organizations. We understand how emotionally charged this situation is for the public. However, it is necessary to consider the specifics of rhythmic gymnastics. This discipline requires high technical training and carries certain health risks. Even with the strictest adherence to all safety recommendations, it is impossible to completely eliminate the possibility of injuries. Unfortunately, similar incidents occur in international practice as well.
It is alarming in the professional community that the incident is being viewed as intentional harm, and the strictest preventive measures have been applied to the coach at a stage when the investigation is still ongoing. This sends a troubling signal to coaches and specialists: an accident during training can be regarded as a crime. The Federation is confident that the legal assessment should be based on a complete and impartial analysis involving experts in sports medicine and training methodology. It is important to establish the facts without pressure from the public and premature conclusions.
We hope for a fair and professional approach from law enforcement that takes into account the specifics of sports activities and the principle of presumption of innocence.

- We are deeply concerned about what has happened. Such incidents always provoke a special reaction from both young athletes, who trust their coaches, and their parents, who entrust their children to sports organizations. We understand how sharply such situations are perceived by everyone interested in the future of sports and the reputation of our country. We express our sincere support for the young athlete and her family. Every injury is not only a physical trial but also a serious emotional stress. We also understand the emotions of those close to this situation and treat them with respect.
However, it is important to note that the assessment of what happened should be based on an objective analysis. Media reports claim that the harm was intentional, but such conclusions require thorough verification. Correct legal qualification is only possible after a comprehensive examination involving professionals in sports medicine and training methodology. The Federation believes that only an honest and detailed approach to establishing the factual circumstances can ensure a fair assessment of the incident. We hope that the examination will be conducted comprehensively and impartially, taking into account the specifics of the training process. In conclusion, we once again express our sincere sympathy for the athlete and her loved ones and wish for her swift recovery and return to an active life.
