The athlete from Kyrgyzstan, Nurzat Nurtayeva, took second place at the international ranking tournament in wrestling, Muhamet Malo–2026, which is taking place in the Albanian capital, Tirana.
Nurtayeva competed in the weight category up to 72 kg and showed impressive results throughout the tournament.
In the first round, she achieved an early victory over the Bulgarian Daniella Brasnaro with a score of 10:0. In the second round, leading 4:0, Nurzat finished the match by pinning the Indian athlete Reshma Mane. The third round was also successful — the Kyrgyzstani confidently defeated Diksha Malik from India with a score of 8:0.
In the semifinals, Nurzat won a tense match against Victoria Choluy from Poland, finishing the bout with a score of 2:1, which secured her a place in the final.
In the decisive match for the gold medal, Nurtayeva faced the Kazakh athlete Zhamile Bakbergenova. In this final match, the Kyrgyzstani lost, finishing the bout with a score of 3:14, thus winning the silver medal of the tournament.
