The women's volleyball team of Kyrgyzstan has taken a historic step by becoming the first from the country to participate in the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Nations Cup.

According to information provided by the Volleyball Federation of Kyrgyzstan, this achievement was made possible due to the team's high ranking.

In the past two years, Kyrgyzstani volleyball players have twice become champions of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) tournament.

Currently, they hold the 62nd place in the world ranking and 10th in Asia.

The Asian Nations Cup features the 12 strongest teams on the continent, including 7 national teams that performed best in the previous tournament, as well as 5 teams that qualified based on their ranking.

The 2026 Asian Nations Cup will take place from June 6 to 14 in the Philippines. The teams will be divided into two groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the "Final Four." The remaining teams will compete for positions 5 through 12.
