From January 29 to February 1, 2026, Krasnoyarsk will host the XXXVII international tournament in freestyle wrestling, known as the Ivan Yarygin Cup. Wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan are expected to participate in this highly reputable competition.
According to the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic, the country's women's national team will take part in the tournament. The best freestyle wrestlers will compete for medals in ten weight categories.
To date, athletes from 16 countries have confirmed their participation in the tournament. Last year, 384 wrestlers from 17 countries participated in the competition, highlighting the international status of the tournament and its significance in the global wrestling calendar.
The Ivan Yarygin Cup is a traditional stage in the preparation of athletes for the upcoming World Championships, continental championships, and the Olympic Games.
