According to information from the publication "Meduza," a bill aimed at tightening the rules for labor migrants has been submitted to the Russian parliament. In particular, the document proposes expanding the grounds for the annulment of labor patents.

The patent may be revoked if the foreigner's income is below the subsistence minimum, taking into account dependents. It is expected that tax authorities will provide the Ministry of Internal Affairs with data on migrants' incomes over three, six, nine, and twelve months.

Additionally, the patent may be annulled if its holder has worked for less than ten months in a year and their income is below the established minimum.

A separate aspect of the bill concerns the children of foreign citizens. According to the proposal, adult children of migrants must leave the territory of Russia within 30 days after turning 18 if they do not have legal grounds for staying in the country, such as a work visa.

Currently, a labor patent is mandatory for citizens of countries with a visa-free regime with Russia, except for Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
