The country's Minister of Health, Marcela Flores, reported on the sad consequences of an incident that occurred on Friday in El Alto, when a Bolivian Air Force plane crashed onto a busy road while landing. Initially, it was stated that the plane had rolled off the runway and collided with vehicles; however, the Ministry of Defense later clarified that it was indeed a crash during landing.

Of the eight crew members, six survived, and one is missing. Most of the injured are in critical condition, and authorities have called on citizens to donate blood to help the wounded.

After the disaster, local residents began to flock to the scene, eager to collect the fallen money, which created difficulties for rescuers and medical personnel. The police used tear gas to disperse the crowd, resulting in at least 12 people being detained on suspicion of theft.

The Central Bank of Bolivia urged the return of the stolen banknotes, emphasizing that they are not legal tender as they had not been put into circulation. Amid ongoing attempts by citizens to collect the money, the police began destroying the banknotes at the scene.

The head of the Central Bank, David Espinoza, stated: "These banknotes are not in circulation, so we are proceeding with their destruction."
