
During the briefing, Bakayev noted that today the first flight is planned from the capital of Oman, from where 467 Kazakhstanis will be returned. Tomorrow, the second flight is expected from Jeddah, which will bring back 343 citizens of Kazakhstan.
The citizens to be evacuated reside in the UAE and Qatar and will be returned through Oman and Saudi Arabia. Currently, the first convoy of buses has already departed from Dubai to Oman, and by the end of the day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects to return 467 citizens from Oman. The second flight is being organized from Qatar to Saudi Arabia, where the Kazakhstanis will be taken to Riyadh, and from there to Jeddah.
According to the deputy minister, it is from there that the Kazakhstanis will be returned home with the help of aircraft from domestic airlines.
In addition, Bakayev reported that the day before, 17 citizens of Kazakhstan were evacuated from northern Iran through Turkmenistan. "The authorities of Turkmenistan provided assistance, and our citizens successfully crossed the border," he noted.
Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev added that currently about 5,000 Kazakhstanis are in the Middle East.
"Today, separate flights have been launched. They are heading towards Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and one through Turkey. If the second route departs, it will also go through Saudi Arabia, then to Pakistan and towards Kazakhstan," he explained.
He also reported that the airlines Air Astana and ScatCAT will provide six aircraft, which will depart immediately after the airspace is opened.
Deputy Transport Minister Talgat Lastayev reported that two flights of Fly Dubai have already departed, returning 306 Kazakhstanis to Astana and Almaty.
