According to information provided by the Turkish Ministry of Defense, a ballistic missile launched from Iran was successfully neutralized by NATO air defense forces located in the Eastern Mediterranean. As a result of the incident, missile debris fell in an uninhabited area in Gaziantep, and fortunately, no one was injured.

On February 28, Israel and the United States launched strikes against Iran. Donald Trump set the objective: to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response to these attacks, Iran began striking Israel and countries in the Middle East where American military bases are located. The strikes targeted Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Dubai (UAE), and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the American-Israeli attack, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed, and shortly after, his wife, Mansure Khodjasteh, who was injured, also died.

Donald Trump stated that military operations in Iran would last about four weeks. Iran, in turn, declared jihad against the United States and Israel, emphasizing the lack of opportunity for negotiations.

The conflict in the Middle East has consequences for the entire world, including Kyrgyzstan. As a result of the current events, thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE. Information about the contact numbers of embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad is available here.
