On March 10, in response to journalists' questions, Al-Ansari noted that the Middle East is effectively plunging into a regional war, which could lead to catastrophic consequences. As reported by Euronews, he emphasized that Qatar has been warning the international community since 2023 about the potential for a global escalation of the conflict with Iran.

The representative of the Qatari foreign ministry pointed out the necessity of halting Iranian attacks before any negotiations for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict can begin. Al-Ansari accused Tehran of strikes on civilian infrastructure both in the Gulf countries and beyond.

He also warned that the continuation of these attacks could lead to a humanitarian disaster. Al-Ansari added that any attack on Qatar would provoke a corresponding response from the country.

Furthermore, he expressed hope that after the apologies from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, neighboring countries would be able to achieve a cessation of attacks; however, this did not happen. At the same time, he declined to comment on the appointment of a new Supreme Leader of Iran, emphasizing that Qatar is currently focused on protecting itself from missile strikes.

Iran has previously reiterated that its actions are solely directed against U.S. interests in the Persian Gulf and warned that any support from Washington would be perceived as a hostile act.

In response to these statements, the Qatari Foreign Ministry confirmed that strategic cooperation with the U.S. and other defense partners remains unwavering. Al-Ansari added that the Patriot systems, operating in cooperation with American and other international partners, play a key role in defense and deterrence against threats.
