According to the laboratory, a powerful explosion was recorded on the Sun in the middle of the day, and the images obtained from coronagraphs show how the material is scattering in different directions. "The epicenter of the explosion was on the far side of the Sun, and currently, it is not being observed by satellites," astronomers reported.

Two weeks ago, when the currently invisible side of the Sun was facing the Earth, nothing unusual was noticed there, except for a few medium-sized active regions.

If this is an explosion from one of the active regions, then judging by the direction of the ejection, the flare occurred in a group of spots located below the equator on the right side of the visible solar disk (group number 4321 in the catalog), the scientists added.

The location of the explosion will only be visible in about a week when the group of spots begins to appear on the horizon from the eastern side, specialists note.
