In Switzerland, the owner of a bar where 40 people died was arrested

Jacques and Jessica Moretti
The arrest of Moretti occurred after a lengthy interrogation, during which his wife and co-owner of the establishment, Jessica, was also questioned. According to the publication, this decision by the investigation indicates a change in his position: earlier, on January 4, a police press release stated that there were no grounds for Moretti's arrest, as the risk of fleeing justice had not been confirmed, and therefore no coercive measures were applied.
Jacques and Jessica Moretti are suspected of involuntary manslaughter, causing bodily harm through negligence, and negligent arson in connection with the tragic incident in which 40 people died, according to information from 24 heures.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the fire at the bar Le Constellation started when bartenders ignited bottles with fireworks, after which the soundproofing foam on the ceiling caught fire, engulfing the room in flames in less than a minute. As a result of the incident, 116 people were injured.
