The ChatGPT neural network, developed by OpenAI, has demonstrated impressive results, achieving the highest score in nine out of 15 subjects on the unified entrance exam for Japanese universities. Its overall accuracy rate was 97%. In comparison, this figure was at 91% in 2022 and dropped to 66% in 2024, according to Kyodo News, citing the company LifePromt, which conducted the testing.

Among the subjects where ChatGPT achieved the highest results are chemistry, fundamentals of biology and physics, mathematics, as well as political science and economics. However, in the Japanese language exam, the neural network showed its weaknesses, scoring 90% correct answers.

Satoshi Endo, head of LifePromt, noted: "Thanks to improved computational and reading skills, AI achieved the highest score in mathematics. However, the results of the Japanese language test indicate its inability to fully systematize information in Japanese."

According to the preparatory school Kawaijuku Group, a score of 89% gives a 50% chance of admission to the first year of humanities this academic year.
