A Case Has Been Opened Against High-Ranking Military Officials in China

In China, a case has been opened against two high-profile military officials — Zhang Yuxia and Liu Zhenli, who are suspected of "serious violations of discipline and law." This became known through a report by the Xinhua News Agency.

Zhang Yuxia holds an important position in the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and is the Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Commission, while Liu Zhenli is also a member of this commission and heads the Joint Staff.

Additionally, the report mentions the fight against corruption in the country. Last year, nearly 70 high-ranking officials were punished in China, while around 983,000 people were held accountable. Over the course of the year, more than a million corruption cases were investigated in the country, of which 115 involved officials.
