The trade volume of Kyrgyzstan with EU countries has increased by 1.6 times over 3 years, - Ministry of Economy

- As Turdukhozhayeva noted, the volume of trade between Kyrgyzstan and EU countries has increased by 1.6 times over three years. This has been made possible by existing agreements, including preferential trade regimes.

From 2021 to 2024, there has been significant growth: exports have doubled, while imports have increased by approximately 50%. She also emphasized that in 2024, the share of EU countries in Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade exceeded 30%, with the EU accounting for about 40% of the export structure.

The total volume of mutual trade in 2024 reached $5.5 billion, which is 20% more compared to 2023. Exports amounted to $1.7 billion, increasing by 20%, while imports totaled $3.8 billion, with a growth of about 15%.

According to ministry data, in the 11 months of 2025, mutual trade with the EU amounted to approximately $4.9 billion, which is 1.3% more than in the same period of the previous year. Exports exceeded $1 billion, while imports reached $3.9 billion, increasing by 17.7%.

Turdukhozhayeva added that Kyrgyzstan primarily exports dairy products, vegetables and fruits, dried fruits, clothing and accessories, glass products, and other goods to EU countries. At the same time, oil products, raw materials and intermediate goods for production, including coal, gas, wheat, flour, vegetable oil, sugar, timber, paper and cardboard, ferrous metals and construction materials, as well as cars and chemical industry products, are imported from the EU to Kyrgyzstan.
