According to information from the publication "Nomad," in 2025, the volume of operations in Kyrgyzstan's cryptocurrency market amounted to 1.78 trillion soms. Cryptocurrency specialist Asylbek Aitmatov emphasized that "in the future, this could grow to a quadrillion."
Last year, the budget of the country received 2 billion soms in taxes from this sector. Of this, more than 700 million soms were collected from the Dordoi market, and 1.2 billion soms came from patents.
However, the question arises: does the cryptocurrency sector really bring in more tax revenue than the largest market and all citizens working under the patent system? Or is it just a marketing ploy, similar to the famous phrase "I will buy my wife boots" from the MMM advertisement, which many remember from the 90s?
It is worth noting that last week there was a significant drop in the global cryptocurrency market. Economists report that in a short period, the capitalization of cryptocurrencies decreased by more than 500 billion dollars.
