Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, added that milk with a fat content of at least 3.4% is purchased from farmers at a price ranging from 28 to 42 soms. Milk collectors allocate 5 soms for their expenses and sell it to processing plants for 32-48 soms.
The current price of milk at various enterprises is as follows:
- Bishkek - 35-37.5 soms;
- Chui Region - 36-37 soms;
- Naryn Region - 35-36 soms;
- Talas Region - 32-41 soms;
- Issyk-Kul Region - 34-48 soms.
The head of the company "Talas Daamy," Baktybek Tuuganbaev, pointed out that his plant purchases milk for 43-45 soms, while farmers sell it for 37 soms. He also noted that there is a problem with low milk yield.
"The average cow in Talas gives 8 liters of milk, in the Chui region - 10, in Russia - 15, and in Belarus - 20 liters. We have the lowest figures; it is necessary to increase cow productivity. In Europe, cows that give less than 25 liters are sent for slaughter," Tuuganbaev reported, adding that state assistance would be very timely.
He also noted that farmers are provided with loans of up to 5 million soms at 3%, but it is necessary to increase them to 10 million soms.
"In 2022, we visited the Saratov region with farmers, where the JSC 'Trudovoe' has 13,000 head of livestock. They collect 160 tons of milk daily. Such farms are needed in Talas, the Chui region, and Issyk-Kul. Purebred cows could help farmers increase their incomes, but the owner of 'Trudovoe' said it is unprofitable for him to sell less than 100 heads," Tuuganbaev concluded.
