The Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mirbek Duyshiev, reported on February 11 that the requirements for borrowers under the preferential lending program "Financing Agriculture-14" (FSA-14) have been significantly simplified.

As Duyshiev noted, for farmers engaged in crop production, the main condition is the presence of either owned or leased land. In turn, for those involved in livestock farming, it is necessary to confirm the intention to purchase livestock and provide a report to the bank on the targeted use of the loan within two months after receiving the funds.

“We have done everything possible to minimize the requirements from the state under FSA-14. For crop production, this means having land, and for livestock farming, it involves the intention to buy livestock and subsequent reporting to financial institutions,” he added.

Duyshiev also emphasized that in other projects, the collateral conditions are determined by commercial banking institutions, which can accept both movable and immovable property as collateral. Additionally, banks are striving to simplify the conditions for obtaining preferential loans for farmers.
