Currently, preparations for spring field work are actively being completed in various regions of Kyrgyzstan, with the level of readiness of agricultural machinery at 82%, which is 2% higher compared to last year. The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic reports that there are over 92 thousand units of machinery in the country, including more than 22 thousand tractors and nearly 2 thousand grain harvesters. Almost 18 thousand tractors will go into the fields, along with a significant number of plows, seeders, and harrows. In total, more than 8 thousand tillage and over 3 thousand seeding units will be involved in the sowing campaign, with the level of farmers' access to machinery being approximately 71%.
To address the shortage of machinery, the government is actively renewing the fleet of machines and tractors through special leasing programs with an interest rate of 6% per annum. Since 2011, with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers, over 10.5 thousand units of machinery worth 29 billion soms have been transferred to farmers through "Ayil Bank" and "Eldik Bank." Since the beginning of 2026, farmers have already received 854 machines worth 584 million soms, and by the end of the year, it is planned to transfer more than 2 thousand units worth 7 billion soms. Additional support is provided by 186 machine-tractor stations (MTS), which have more than 4 thousand units of machinery.
According to the latest inventory, there is a stable annual growth in the fleet of agricultural machinery in the republic. This growth is due not only to government subsidies but also to direct purchases: according to customs and tax authorities, over 8 thousand units of various agricultural machinery were imported into the country last year. The agency emphasizes that timely repairs and the development of leasing mechanisms remain crucial conditions for the successful conduct of the sowing campaign in 2026.
