On January 22, during a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov reported that there is currently no practice of rolling blackouts in Kyrgyzstan.

In response to a query from Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova regarding frequent power supply issues in the Nookat district, he noted that there are no scheduled outages in the country. According to him, temporary outages are not a result of intentional limitations on electricity supply.

Since the beginning of November, due to low water levels in the Toktogul reservoir, measures have been taken to control electricity consumption. During morning and evening hours, the power available to the population was temporarily reduced from 5 to 3 kilowatts using "smart meters".

From November 6, similar measures were also implemented for state institutions.

According to the government, as of January 15, the water level in the Toktogul reservoir was 9.102 billion cubic meters, which is 1.631 billion cubic meters lower compared to the same period last year.

The Ministry of Energy and the country's authorities emphasize that the power outages that do occur are technical or regulatory, rather than rolling blackouts. In this regard, the population and organizations are urged to use electricity rationally and economically.
