According to reports, the Ministry of Energy emphasizes that there will be no sharp price increase when the moratorium on gasoline is lifted, as reported by Ulysmedia.kz.
According to the information, the introduced moratorium will last until the end of March to limit inflationary processes. The ministry assures that even with a possible lifting of this measure, no sharp changes in fuel prices are to be expected.
Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov noted: “We have made a decisive decision to stop the price increase and limit market mechanisms. If after March 31 the government decides not to intervene in the operations of gas stations, then the pricing conditions will be determined by internal supply and demand. We are prepared to prevent a sharp rise in prices, considering the current economic situation.”
Economist Arman Beisembaev suggests that the moratorium may be lifted as early as March, which, in his opinion, will lead to an increase in fuel prices.
