Uzbek lawmakers have decided to establish administrative liability for the dissemination of materials that promote participation in hostilities abroad. This information was announced by the press service of the lower house on February 3 during the first reading of the amendments.
This initiative aims to prevent the spread of information that may encourage citizens to get involved in armed conflicts or other dangerous activities.
Deputies noted that research revealed the presence of graffiti and flyers in public places, such as apartment buildings and street lamps, containing links to Telegram channels. These channels promise high-paying jobs abroad, which often leads to individuals becoming involved in combat operations or drug courier activities. "According to our data, such advertisements push young people towards risky actions," said deputy Khushvaqt Khaitov from the Liberal Democratic Party, as reported by Gazeta.uz.
Earlier, the internet resource Fergana reported that residents of Tashkent began receiving suspicious messages from strangers on Telegram, offering work as drug couriers if they chose to respond to these offers.
