At the meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dedicated to issues of the judicial system, law and order, combating crime, and anti-corruption activities, which took place on February 10, 2026, Deputy Azamat Isirailov raised an important question regarding the certification and control of halal product manufacturers.

During the discussion, he addressed Deputy Minister of Economy Sultan Akhmatov, clarifying whether the ministry issues certificates for halal products. Akhmatov confirmed that such certification is indeed carried out.

After that, the deputy asked what measures are in place for companies that, after receiving certificates, subsequently violate established standards. Deputy Director of Kyrgyzstandart Abdymanap Karymshakov explained that the certification process requires companies to undergo a full set of inspections.

“Every company wishing to obtain a certificate must go through all the necessary procedures. In case of non-compliance with the requirements or obligations after receiving the certificate, it may be held accountable under the law, including measures from law enforcement agencies,” Karymshakov noted.
