Ministry of Energy: 298 transformers in Bishkek will undergo repairs, 38 new ones will be installed

In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, work is planned to repair 298 transformers operating at a voltage of 6–10/0.4 kV, as well as the installation of 38 new units. This information was provided by the Ministry of Energy of the KR.

The repair activities will begin in March and last until November 2026.

Funding for the equipment upgrade is provided by JSC "KUET," and the implementation will be carried out through the Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise.

During the repair process, the technical condition of the transformers will be assessed, worn components will be replaced, and necessary maintenance will be performed.

The installation of new transformers will improve the quality of electricity transmission, balance the load, and ensure reliable power supply for consumers.

The work will cover the following areas of the electrical networks:
• Eastern RES — 113 transformers will be repaired, 25 new ones will be installed;
• Western RES — 100 units will be repaired, 3 new ones will be installed;
• Northern RES — 85 transformers will be repaired, 10 new ones will be installed.

Currently, the Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise has 2248 transformers on its balance. By the end of the year, all of them will undergo complete technical maintenance and repair.
