On March 2, in Kyrgyzstan, the Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev made a working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, where he familiarized himself with the state of energy facilities and major projects planned for 2026.

First, the minister met with the staff of the branch of JSC "NESC" - the Issyk-Kul Electric Networks Enterprise. During this meeting, important issues in the industry were discussed, and employees received answers to their questions. Ibraev instructed to expedite the implementation of "smart" meters and take measures to reduce electricity losses.

To ensure operational servicing of the checkpoint "Bedele" in the Kara-Sai valley, a task was set to create the Kara-Sai electric networks division under the Jeti-Oguz RES, as well as the Oi-Tal division under the Tyup RES.

The minister also emphasized the need to equip the Jeti-Oguz and Tyup RES, as well as the communication service, with specialized equipment.

As part of the visit, he reviewed the project for the construction of a thermal power center in Karakol. The new facility, with a capacity of 120 MW, will be connected to the electrical networks through the 110/35/10 kV "Przhevalsk" substation, which will fully meet the city's electricity needs after it is put into operation.

Additionally, the minister visited the racetrack in the village of Baktyu-Dolonotu and discussed issues of ensuring quality electricity supply, especially during the SCO summit and the VI World Nomad Games.

At the Cholpon-Ata RES, Ibraev reviewed the administrative building, which underwent major repairs. He listened to the employees' suggestions and committed to providing the division with the necessary specialized equipment.

During the trip, the modernization of the "Dolinak" substation was also considered, where it is planned to replace the AT1-10 and AT2-16 MVA transformers with new ones, each with a capacity of 40 MVA, which will create a new substation with a total capacity of 80 MVA.

The minister also visited the energy workers' sanatorium "El-Nuru," checking the progress of construction works and readiness for the summer season. Currently, new cottages with a total capacity of 50 places are being built: five two-story and five one-story.

In addition, the system for providing the sanatorium with clean drinking water is being modernized.

Ibraev instructed to ensure the quality completion of all works and finish construction by June 10, 2026.

At the end of his trip, the minister noted that the development of the region's energy infrastructure and the improvement of electricity supply reliability remain priority tasks. He emphasized that the quality and timely execution of the assigned tasks is the foundation for sustainable operations in the industry.
