According to the information from the agency, this installation is part of the reforms initiated by the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, aimed at automating the accounting and transmission of electricity.
The installation process will be carried out by the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise.
The volumes of installation in different districts of the region will be distributed as follows:
• Kyzyl-Kyya District Electric Networks — 10,150 units
• Kadamjay District Electric Networks — 14,530 units
• Leilek District Electric Networks — 14,105 units
• Suluktu District Electric Networks — 15,193 units
Currently, there are 130,668 subscribers registered at the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise, among which:
• 121,149 — residential subscribers,
• 9,519 — non-residential subscribers.
It is important to note that from 2024 to 2025, 62,085 smart meters were installed in the region. The Batken district, the city of Batken, and the city of Kyzyl-Kiya were fully equipped with smart metering devices.
This large-scale project is being implemented by JSC "NESK" with the support of the World Bank, aimed at modernizing the country's energy sector, improving digital management, and ensuring the efficient use of electricity.
