The Ministry of Energy reports the completion of large-scale work by the Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise.
In 2025, transformers were upgraded at seven substations located in areas with high population density and an increasing number of consumers. The changes include:
• At the 110/10 kV substation "Kök-Jar," the 25 MVA transformer was replaced with a 40 MVA;
• At the 110/10 kV substation "Orto-Alysh," the 25 MVA transformer was replaced with a 40 MVA;
• At the 110/10 kV substation "Altyn-Kazyk," the 16 MVA transformer was replaced with a 25 MVA;
• At the 110/10 kV substation "Berlik," the 16 MVA transformer was replaced with a 25 MVA;
• At the 110/10 kV substation "Vodokanal," the 6.3 MVA transformer was replaced with a 16 MVA;
• At the 110/10 kV substation "Karagachevaya," the 4 MVA transformer was replaced with a 6.3 MVA;
• At the 110/10 kV substation "Nizhnyaya-Ala-Archa," the 4 MVA transformer was replaced with a 6.3 MVA.
These changes have significantly increased the network's capacity, improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply for consumers.
As part of the plan for 2026, the capacity of two additional substations is also scheduled to be increased:
• At the 110/6 kV substation "Kyzyl-Asker," the 25 MVA transformer will be replaced with a 40 MVA;
• At the 35/6-10 kV substation "Central-3," the 6.3 MVA transformer will be replaced with a 16 MVA.
The work carried out was done using a cascading method and is aimed at improving the reliability of the electric network complex, contributing to stable electricity supply for residents.
Considering the active construction of new residential areas, social and production facilities in Bishkek, the load on the electric networks is increasing, which requires an increase in transformer capacity. The implementation of these improvements contributes to enhancing the resilience of the electrical network, ensuring uninterrupted and quality electricity supply for the population and organizations in the city, emphasizes the Ministry of Energy.
