The Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Erlis Akunbekov, is holding working meetings with experts to improve the epizootic situation in the country.
On March 17, 2026, during one of these meetings, the minister discussed with representatives of the joint-stock company "Altyn Tamyr" plans for the construction of a modern plant for the production of veterinary vaccines. This project aims to ensure the veterinary safety of the country and is strategically important for improving quality in the livestock sector, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture.
It is important to note that "Altyn Tamyr" is the only producer of biopreparations in Kyrgyzstan, producing about 20 different preparations. These products not only meet the needs of local livestock but are also exported to countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan.
During the discussion, the minister outlined key tasks:
- Tightening requirements for the volume and quality of produced vaccines;
- Expediting the construction of the plant and its commissioning;
- Developing a program for effective and optimal procurement of vaccines;
- Considering the project as a strategically important object for the country's economy.
According to preliminary estimates, the implementation of the plant's construction will require about 10 million US dollars. The state will provide support for this project, including mechanisms for offering preferential loans and creating favorable conditions for investors.
Erlis Akunbekov emphasized that this initiative will make a significant contribution to controlling the epizootic situation, preventing animal diseases, and developing local production.
Upon completion of the project, Kyrgyzstan will be able not only to provide the domestic market with high-quality veterinary vaccines but also to significantly increase its export capabilities in the future.
The record "A modern plant for the production of vaccines against animal diseases will be built in Kyrgyzstan" was first published on the K-News website.
