- During the radio broadcast, the chairwoman of the Energy Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kundus Kyrbashova, noted that the demand for electricity has significantly increased, rising 3-4 times over the past 10-20 years.

Kyrbashova emphasized that this growth is a global trend, not just a problem for Kyrgyzstan. Neighboring countries are also experiencing electricity shortages, leading to active energy-saving campaigns involving well-known personalities and artists.

According to her, the main factors contributing to the increase in consumption are the growing population and the rise in electricity consumption per capita.

She added that 10-20 years ago, household appliances were less complex: small refrigerators were used, televisions were rarely turned on, and air conditioners and modern gadgets were absent. As a result, electricity consumption was significantly lower. Currently, this figure has increased by 3-4 times.

Moreover, there is an increase in the number of enterprises, mini-factories, factories, and new residential buildings, which also contributes to the rising demand for electricity.

“New power plants are being built, but this takes time. While waiting for their completion, it is necessary to implement energy-saving practices,” Kyrbashova noted.

The chairwoman also reminded that the financing of electricity in the country is carried out through taxes, subsidies, and loans, so it is important to treat resources carefully. In this regard, it is recommended to use energy-efficient devices and household appliances of class A and above, as well as to replace regular bulbs with energy-saving ones.

“Our parents always taught us to save. We should adhere to this principle and use electricity responsibly,” she added.
