A winter count of waterfowl and aquatic birds was conducted at Lake Issyk-Kul and the Orto-Tokoy reservoir

Experts emphasize that the bird count provides a unique opportunity to learn about the wintering and migratory species inhabiting the Issyk-Kul region, which plays an important role in the migration routes of Central Asia. The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision notes that such activities contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and sustainable natural resource management. The results of the counts are used as a scientific basis for developing management and environmental protection solutions.

The eco-demographic monitoring of waterfowl and aquatic birds, as well as their habitats at Issyk-Kul, is an important part of ecological practice, allowing for the monitoring of changes in ecosystems and assessing the impact of various factors on the condition of water bodies.
