At the Ministry of Natural Resources, the development of adaptive landscapes and pastures was discussed

The Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Almaz Musaev, met with a mission from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the UN, led by Country Director Laura Mattioli. This meeting took place on February 3, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

During the meeting, Mattioli emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Kyrgyz side and expressed gratitude for the support, as well as positively assessing the reforms being implemented in the country in the field of ecology.

The main topic of discussion was the conceptual note for the Adaptation Fund related to the project "ALATOO – Adaptive Landscapes and Agro-Pastoral Transformations for New Opportunities and Sustainable Outcomes." This project focuses on pasture and forest ecosystems, applying a comprehensive approach to natural resource management. Special attention will be given to sustainable development and the protection of national parks.

Almaz Musaev also informed IFAD representatives about the current initiatives of the ministry aimed at biodiversity conservation, as well as new strategies and programs concerning environmental protection.

In addition, details of the project implementation were discussed, which has an estimated cost of 10 million US dollars and aims to develop adaptive landscapes and transform agro-pastures, with the goal of creating new opportunities and achieving sustainable outcomes.
