Storm Warning: Avalanche Risk and Icy Conditions Expected on Mountain Roads from March 2 to 5

From March 2 to 5, avalanches, snow drifts, and ice are forecasted in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan due to changing weather conditions. 

According to Kyrgyzhydromet, avalanche-prone areas are located on the following roads:

- on the 121-138 km section of the Bishkek—Osh highway (Töö-Ashuu pass) and on the 198-265 km section (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- on the 55-115 km section of the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaykuu route;

- on the 45-112 km section of the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya road (Chapchyma pass);

- on the 0-3 km section of the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash highway;

- on the 292-305 km section of the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart route (Dolon pass);

- on the 201-205, 260-290, and 326-249 km sections of the Balikchy—Kazarmin—Jalal-Abad road (Kok-Art pass);

- on the 45-90 km section of the Karakol—Engilchek highway (Chong-Ashuu pass).

When traveling through avalanche-prone areas, drivers are advised to maintain a safe distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
