Baisalov emphasized that the new structure of the ministry is intended to radically transform universities, making them a magnet for talent and a source of modern knowledge, which will contribute to the long-term development of the country.
Discussing the implementation of the presidential decree on granting special status to certain universities, he noted that the results vary.
“Some universities have been able to take advantage of new opportunities and have demonstrated visible progress. Others are still waiting for clarifications and decisions. The waiting phase is over,” Baisalov pointed out.
In addition, he reported that in the coming weeks, the Presidential Administration, together with the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation, will strengthen coordination in the modernization process. This includes reviewing educational programs, eliminating outdated disciplines, optimizing ineffective areas, and introducing new courses that meet the demands of the modern labor market.
As a result of the meeting, key areas for reforming the higher education and science system were identified, specific tasks were set, and corresponding instructions were given.
“Control over the implementation of the adopted decisions will be carried out at a special level,” the Cabinet added.
