In Bishkek, the city hall management conducted an inspection of several facilities responsible for the city's water supply.

According to the press service of the city hall, the first facility inspected was the water intake "Orto-Alysh," where work is actively underway to clean the recharge lakes. Currently, 4 out of 11 such lakes have been cleaned, with 8 excavators and 5 dump trucks involved. This water intake is capable of supplying 8,600 cubic meters of water, which meets the needs of approximately 40% of the capital's population.

During the inspection, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev instructed to establish cooperation with the municipal enterprise "Bishkek Teploelektrotsentral" to start repair work earlier than scheduled, in order to ensure uninterrupted water supply for residents during the summer period.

In addition, the municipal enterprise "Bishkek Vodokanal" was instructed to notify agricultural facilities about the necessity to switch to drip irrigation. If this instruction is ignored, appropriate measures will be taken.

The next facility inspected was the water intake "HBO," where, after reconstruction, 5 wells are functioning: 3 of them have been repaired, and 2 have been newly drilled, each with a capacity of 160 cubic meters per hour. Additionally, 4 second-lift pumping units have been installed here. This water intake provides drinking water to the residents of the Kok-Zhar microdistrict and the neighborhoods bounded by the streets Ankara, Dostoevsky, L. Tolstoy, and 7 April.

The city hall noted that the completion of work at this facility was planned for February 2026; however, thanks to prompt work, it will be completed by December 2025.
