The Mayor of Bishkek visited water supply facilities and schools in the capital

The Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, accompanied by his deputies, conducted an inspection of several water supply facilities and educational institutions in the capital.

According to information from the mayor's office, the first stop was the water intake facility "Orto-Alysh." Currently, work is underway to clean the replenishment lakes, with 4 out of 11 already cleaned. For these purposes, 8 excavators and 5 dump trucks are involved. This water intake facility supplies 8,600 cubic meters of water and meets the needs of about 40% of the city's residents.

During his visit, the mayor instructed to initiate repair work in collaboration with the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek Heat and Power Plant" ahead of schedule to ensure uninterrupted water supply during the summer period.

Additionally, the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkekvodokanal" was instructed to notify agricultural facilities about the necessity to switch to drip irrigation. If these requirements are ignored, appropriate measures should be taken.

The next stop was a visit to Children's Art School No. 4, where the construction of an additional floor or a new building next to the existing one was discussed. Junushaliev instructed to contact the Institute of Seismology to assess the seismic resistance of the building and emphasized the importance of creating an accessible environment for people with disabilities during the reconstruction. The school will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026, and all work must be completed by then.

The mayor also visited School No. 37, where he instructed to urgently begin major repairs on the neighboring building and consider the possibility of merging the two buildings of the educational institution to increase its capacity. Additionally, it was instructed to dismantle the garages next to the school and to explore the issue of building a multi-level parking lot.

Later, the water intake station "HBO" was inspected. After the reconstruction, 5 wells are operational here — 3 have been repaired, and 2 new ones were drilled with a capacity of 160 cubic meters per hour each. Four second-lift pumping units have also been installed. This station provides water to the residents of the Kok-Zhar residential area and nearby neighborhoods. The completion of work on this facility was planned for February 2026, but it was completed ahead of schedule — in December 2025.

The last stop of the visit was School No. 56. After multiple visits by Mayor Junushaliev, his criticisms, and the adoption of management decisions, including the dismissal of the deputy akim of the Oktobrskiy district, work on this facility was significantly accelerated.

As a result, the major repair of the gym was completed in just two months.

In conclusion, the mayor instructed to enhance the greening of the school grounds and prepare a project for its improvement. According to the director, the number of students has increased after the repairs.
