950 thousand minors in Kyrgyzstan live below the poverty line, as reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov during a meeting with deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He explained that the poverty threshold is an annual income of 65 thousand soms.
According to Baisalov, "950 thousand children under 16 years old in our country are facing financial difficulties." He also expressed hope that the implementation of the action plan will reduce the poverty level in the republic to 15% over the next five years.
