As part of the intergovernmental program aimed at strengthening the border of Tajikistan with Afghanistan, the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are working on identifying suppliers of weapons and military equipment. This was reported by the CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov in an interview with the publication "Allies. CSTO".

“In the first phase of the program, the CSTO is assisting in clarifying and coordinating the lists of weapons, military equipment, and border security means that will be transferred to the Tajik border guards. Currently, the identification of suppliers and the coordination of contracts are underway,” Masadykov noted.

He also emphasized that one of the key tasks for the CSTO is the implementation of a targeted intergovernmental program for strengthening the Tajik-Afghan border, a decision on which was made by the heads of state in Astana in November 2024.

The CSTO includes countries such as Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Armenia.
